Know which form leads are real companies worth a call. AI lead research, Fit scores and email + LinkedIn outreach for B2B sites.

== Description ==

Your contact, demo and quote forms already bring in leads. Most arrive as a name and an email address and nothing else, so the good ones wait in an inbox next to the spam.

CapyScout is a B2B prospecting plugin for WordPress. It keeps junk off your forms for free, logs every lead in one place, and, with a CapyScout account, researches each lead's company with AI, scores how well it fits who you sell to, and starts the follow-up: an email and LinkedIn campaign written for that lead.

It works with the forms you already have. Nothing to rebuild.

= Free, no account needed =

* **Email guard** - stop form submissions and registrations that use throwaway email addresses (about 10,000 known temporary-inbox domains) or a domain that cannot receive mail (typos like gmial.con). Optionally ask for a work email on demo and quote forms, or stop shared inboxes like info@. The visitor sees a clear message and can fix it.
* **Lead log** - every lead from every form, registration and order in one list, with filters for leads from companies, search and CSV export. Kept on your own site for 90 days.
* **Lead tags in notification emails** - each form notification gets one extra line: "CapyScout: Work email (acme.com)", "Free email" or "Throwaway email". Emails sent to the lead are never changed.
* **Weekly lead summary** - every Monday: new leads, how many came from companies, and how much junk was stopped.
* **Dashboard widget** - this month's leads from companies at a glance.

The free features run on your site. They do not contact CapyScout or any other service.

= With a CapyScout account =

* **AI lead research** - open any lead and see their company: what it does, industry, size, location, technology, recent buying signals (funding, hiring, launches) and the people to talk to. One click researches a company CapyScout has not seen yet.
* **Lead scoring** - every new lead gets a Fit score from 0 to 100 against your ideal customer, with the reasons ("matches industry and size") and a suggested next step. Scoring runs in the background, never while the visitor waits, and spam is marked as noise.
* **"Strong lead" emails** - get an email when a lead scores above the Fit you choose.
* **Outbound campaigns from your leads** - add a lead to a CapyScout campaign in one click: email and LinkedIn steps written for that person and their company, which you review before anything is sent. See which campaign a lead is already in and whether they replied.
* **Lookalike prospecting** - "Find companies like this" turns your best inbound lead into a search for similar companies, ranked by Fit, that can keep running every day.
* **Lists** - save a lead's company to a CapyScout list for later.
* **Website visitors (beta)** - daily visits from people, the businesses CapyScout can name from their network, and the bots and AI crawlers (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and others) counted apart. Add a visiting company to a campaign in one click.

Connecting takes one click: you sign in, or start a free trial with no card, on capyscout.com and approve this site. No password is stored in WordPress.

= Works with your forms =

Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, Elementor Pro forms, Fluent Forms, Ninja Forms, Formidable Forms, Forminator, WordPress registration and WooCommerce (account registration and orders). Other forms can log leads with one line of code.

= Who it is for =

B2B websites that get leads through forms: agencies, software and SaaS companies, consultancies, IT and professional services, manufacturers, distributors and wholesale stores. If you sell to people rather than businesses, the free email guard and lead log still help.

= Built to stay out of the way =

* Forms never wait on CapyScout: research and scoring happen in the background.
* The visitor script is about 1 KB, loads after the page, sets no cookies, honors Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control, and skips logged-in editors.
* Each lead score or research uses one CapyScout credit (the same email again is free), within a monthly limit you set.
* Personal data exporter and eraser for Tools > Export / Erase Personal Data, and suggested privacy policy text.

= For developers =

* Log a lead from any other form: `do_action( 'capyscout_lead', $email, $name, $form_label, $message );`
* Leave a lead out: filter `capyscout_log_lead` (return false).
* Hold the visitor script, for example until a cookie banner is accepted: filter `capyscout_track_page` (return false).
* Change who can see CapyScout screens: filter `capyscout_capability` (default `manage_options`).

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate CapyScout from Plugins > Add New, or upload the zip.
2. Open CapyScout and answer two questions: who you sell to, and whether to ask for a work email.
3. The email guard is on right away, and new leads appear under CapyScout > Leads.
4. Optional: click Start free trial (or Sign in) to research leads, score them and add them to campaigns.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= How do I research a lead from my contact form? =

Open CapyScout > Leads and click the lead. With a CapyScout account connected you see the company behind their email address: what it does, size, industry, location, buying signals, a Fit score with the reasons, and the people to talk to. If CapyScout has not seen the company yet, click Research this company.

= Can I add WordPress form leads to a LinkedIn outreach campaign? =

Yes. On a lead, pick a campaign and click Add. CapyScout campaigns can mix email and LinkedIn steps (connection requests, messages, profile visits), and each message is written for that lead. You review messages before they are sent, or let a proven campaign run on its own.

= What is a Fit score? =

A score from 0 to 100 for how well a lead's company matches who you sell to (industry, size, location and signals), set once in CapyScout. 70 or more is a strong fit. Each score shows what matched and what did not.

= How do I find more companies like my best leads? =

Open a strong lead and click Find companies like this. CapyScout searches for similar companies, ranks them by Fit, and can keep finding new ones every day.

= Does it stop spam and fake signups? =

It stops throwaway email addresses and domains that cannot receive mail on your forms and registration, and can require a work email. It is not a captcha: keep your existing spam protection for bots. Leads that do get through are marked as noise when scored, and never trigger a "strong lead" email.

= Which form plugins does it work with? =

Contact Form 7, WPForms (Lite and Pro), Gravity Forms, Elementor Pro forms, Fluent Forms, Ninja Forms, Formidable Forms, Forminator, WordPress registration, and WooCommerce. Other forms can log leads with the `capyscout_lead` action.

= Will it block real customers? =

By default it only stops throwaway addresses and domains that cannot receive mail. Asking for a work email and stopping shared inboxes are off until you turn them on. WooCommerce checkout is never blocked. You can test any address under CapyScout > Settings.

= Does the free version send data anywhere? =

No. The email guard, lead log, lead tags, weekly summary and widget run on your site. The only outside lookup is a DNS check of the email's domain, made by your own server.

= How accurate is website visitor identification? =

It is in beta. CapyScout can only name a company when the visit comes from that company's own network, so many visits stay anonymous, and home and mobile networks are never named. Bots and AI crawlers are counted separately, so the visit numbers are people.

= Is it GDPR friendly? =

Leads are stored on your own site and deleted after 90 days, and the plugin hooks into the WordPress personal data exporter and eraser. The visitor script sets no cookies, honors Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control, and can be held until consent with the `capyscout_track_page` filter. The plugin adds suggested text to your privacy policy guide.

= What does it cost? =

The free features are free. A CapyScout account starts with a free trial, no card needed. Research and scoring use credits: one per new email address, and the same address again is free. Set a monthly limit under CapyScout > Settings.

= How do I disconnect? =

CapyScout > Settings > Disconnect this site. The site key is revoked on CapyScout and removed from WordPress. Deleting the plugin does the same and removes its data.

== External services ==

This plugin connects to CapyScout, a B2B lead research and outreach service operated by Social Intents, LLC, only after you click Start free trial or Sign in. The email guard, lead log, lead tags, weekly summary and dashboard widget do not contact CapyScout.

**CapyScout API (www.capyscout.com)** - used only after you connect.

* During connection, your browser is sent to capyscout.com to sign in and approve this site. The plugin then exchanges a one-time code for a site key and sends your site address, site name, WordPress version and plugin version.
* While connected, the plugin reads your workspace status, your campaigns and lists, this site's traffic counts and the companies that visited, when you open CapyScout screens.
* When lead scoring is on, each new lead's email address, name, form name, page address and message are sent to CapyScout in the background (WP-Cron). The message is deleted from your site once the lead is scored.
* When you open a lead, its email address and name are sent to look up what CapyScout knows about the company. When you click Research, Add to a campaign or Save to a list, the lead's email address, name, title and company are sent for that action.
* When you disconnect or delete the plugin, the plugin asks CapyScout to revoke the site key.

**CapyScout visitor script** - while connected, with "Website visitors" on (CapyScout > Settings), a script bundled with this plugin is added to your public pages. It sends the page path and referrer to www.capyscout.com/t, and CapyScout sees the visitor's network address, to name the visiting company. It sets no cookies and honors Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control.

CapyScout [Terms of Service](https://www.capyscout.com/legal/terms) and [Privacy Policy](https://www.capyscout.com/legal/privacy).

The list of throwaway email domains is bundled with the plugin (from the public disposable-email-domains project, CC0). The "cannot receive mail" check is a DNS lookup made by your own server.
