The signal score measures one thing: how much recent, relevant activity has fired on an account, on a scale of 0 to 100. It tells you how busy an account has been in ways that matter to you, so a quiet company and a household name can both sit at 0 on the day you add them.
Fresh accounts begin at 0
When you add a company, no signals have fired yet, so the score starts at zero. That holds true even for a large, well-known brand. The score reflects activity we have actually detected, and on day one there is nothing to detect.
What makes it climb
- One of your tracked signals fires, such as funding, a new sales leader, a hiring burst, or an RFP
- The activity is recent, since newer hits carry more weight than older ones
- Enough is happening that the account stands out from the quiet ones
